 Micro needling Chicago IL

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is the process of creating tiny “micro-injuries” to the skin that stimulates the body’s natural healing process. The procedure promotes regeneration of the collagen network. Collagen and elastin are responsible for keeping the skin firm, so once the collagen begins to grow, patients will notice their skin is tighter, smoother, and younger looking.

Why would I choose SkinPen Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that can give you long lasting results. It’s versatile because it can be used on nearly any area, even the face, neck, and décolletage. SkinPen microneedling is appropriate for use on nearly any skin type and can reduce the signs of aging as well as minimize acne scars and stretch marks.

What to Expect with SkinPen

• Each SkinPen procedure typically takes 30-60 minutes. A topical anesthetic is applied for a comfortable experience.

• After the procedure, most patients will experience redness and swelling like a mild sunburn for several days. Healing varies based on the individual patient. During the healing time, we can recommend proper skin care protocols and products.

• Patients can expect an average of 3-6 treatment sessions spaced a month apart to achieve desired results.

• Results will continue to improve over time as the collagen regenerates. Most patients see complete results within 3-6 months following treatment.

If you are ready for a truly remarkable way to leverage your body’s natural healing process to achieve younger, smoother, more radiant skin, Microneedling may be the solution for you. Call our team at 855-400-3818 today and schedule your risk-free consultation for SkinPen.

Photo rejuvenation treatment, Illinois

What are Intense Pulsed Light Photo Facials?

We all have heard of the colloquially used term ‘facials.’  It included deep cleaning of the face and a facial massage that rejuvenates the skin. This treatment usually takes close to two hours. Now there is a new facial treatment giving better results and it uses lasers. It is non-ablative and non- invasive meaning that your skin is safe. Intense pulse light (IPL) photo facials are so much more than the traditional facial treatments because it is gentle and corrects many skin problems – including rosacea, freckles, sun spots, facial veins, wrinkles, and fine lines.

How does this work?

Lasers are being favored by medical experts in every field, no less in the field of dermatology. They are very safe and highly efficient, cutting down treatment times by about half the duration of conventional methods. IPL emits light using a broad range of wavelengths. These are filtered to make the output more refined. Therefore, even lower layers of the skin can be accessed without any disruption at the skin surface. The high energy light waves used by IPL are ideal for deep penetration and they correct skin discoloration by squeezing the blood vessels that lie in the dermis. They also stimulate the production of collagen, which is a structural protein of the skin.

Look Younger, Through Botox in Algonquin

How does Botox work?

Botox is responsible for blocking the signal from the nerves to the muscles. The muscle injected with Botox cannot contract, causing the wrinkles to soften and relax, becoming less visible. Botox is mainly used to treat forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, lines near the nose (bunny lines), skin bands on the neck, and lines around the mouth. Botox is also known to be used to stop ailments like lazy eye and uncontrolled blinking.
Static wrinkles that have resulted from gravity skin laxity, and sun damage will not respond to Botox, however, they can be treated with a dermal filler, which is used to fill existing wrinkles. Botox is a neuromodulator, which helps to relax the muscles that are causing dynamic wrinkles.

How is a Botox procedure performed?
The specific muscle is injected with Botox with the use of a fine needle. This will only cause minor discomfort. The procedure will only take a few minutes and will not require any anesthesia. It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for the full effect of Botox to be revealed.

How long does Botox last?
The effects of Botox can typically last from four to six months. As the muscle action returns, the wrinkles and lines will reappear and will need to be retreated for the effects to be maintained. After repeated treatments, the wrinkles and lines will appear less severe as the specific muscles are being trained to be relaxed.

What are the side effects caused by Botox?
The most common side effects from Botox will be temporary bruising and mild pain due to the injection. Headaches may occur but are rare.

Who should not receive Botox?
          Pregnant women
          Breastfeeding mothers
          Patients affected by neurological diseases
Patients who are allergic to albumin
